The company
The Centauri Production is a Czech software house which focuses mainly on computer games.
The CP is also active in the production of multimedia applications and presentations,
of the software for film and animation studios, and of web pages and interfaces.
The company's history
At the moment, the last completed game is Gooka - The Mystery of Janatris which
should appear in the market in June 2004. While developing this game, the Centauri Production prepared
and released some other products such as Domestic Violence: Game Over,
several parts of CD-Romek Ferdy the Ant and of
4 Leaf Clovers in the same series.
Besides that, it managed to recruit a few new staff and become an 'Ltd.' company.
For those who like numbers, the game Domestic Violence was relased in 2003
whereas the first Ferdy the Ant for CD-Romek was released at Christmas
of the previous year.
Work on a 3D engine then called for the expansion of the team of programmers, just as in 2001
when the graphics team had to be strengthened due to 4 Leaf Clovers. It's no wonder as one
of these games is released each month. This asks for a lot of effort especially if we consider that
in 2002 a full-fledged game Fifth Disciple came into being. It's true
that this was created by Napoleon Games, but
the CP gave support to it by providing technology and parts
of its programming and graphics teams.
A short time before that, in 2000, the Centauri became an officially registered company and started to
develop games at the professional level. In this period, making of the game called
Fairy Tale About Father Frost
by Bohemia Interactive studio was well under way.
Upon finishing the project, its whole graphics team which took part in creating the game went over to
the CP.
The very beginnings of the Centauri Production belong to 1994-1999. In that period the team devoted mostly
their free time to developing games. In spite of this fact, they managed to supply the Czech market
with several interesting products such as the game Hot Summer 2, the adventure game
Dung-beetles aka The Mystery of A Comic or the first
Czech dungeon game The Knights of the Grail. The last mentioned is the oldest game
that bears the Centauri Production's logo.
